009 Smith & Wesson M&P Autopistols

Steve is back and in this episode the ProArms Team runs the Smith & Wesson M&P auto pistols through their paces at a local IDPA match. Mas gives us a history of the M&P and other polymer pistols made by S&W. Chris, who has been a big M&P fan for quite some time, gives us his opinions and he has a lot of them. You can contact Kenny Dickerson, whom Chris mentions more than once, through Speed Shooters Specialties. Then the whole ProArms team gives their impressions of how the guns fared at the match and in general. Herman, who chose to stick with his M&P revolver, has some interesting observations too. Several of the team members have trained a lot of folks to shoot M&Ps, and its ability to adapt to different shooters is knowledgeably discussed. Learn what major police departments have adopted the M&P pistol, in all four of the calibers in which it is offered. The latest news on international police sales can be seen here. Mas mentions that he was using a TKW holster; TKW does not have a website but can be contacted at: tkwholsters@comcast.net.

008 All Girl Review!

The Girls take over the Podcast! Terri and Gail are your hostesses for this marathon Podcast . Gail once again takes her recorder on the road and she talks with three of the top female firearms trainers in the country.

First we talk to Vicki Farnam who is vice-president of Defense Training International and co-author of the books “Teaching Women to Shoot: A Law Enforcement Instructor’s Guide” and “Women Learning to Shoot: A Guide for Law Enforcement Officers “ We talk to Vicki about her popular class for men who teach women how to shoot.

Next we hear from Gila Hayes of The Firearms Academy of Seattle and The Armed Citizen’s Legal Defense Network. Gila is the author of “Effective Defense”, field editor for Women and Guns Magazine , and has published articles in numerous magazines. She talks to us about women buying that first gun among other things.

The last and longest of our interviews is with Kathy Jackson of the Cornered Cat website, a fountain of knowledge about firearms. Kathy is also the Managing Editor of Concealed Carry Magazine as well as an accomplished firearms instructor. We talk at length about women carrying a concealed weapon and methods of carry specific to the female. We also talk about a tragic accident where a little girl shot herself with her grandmother’s gun; you can read that story here. Kathy told a couple of other stories illustrating why carrying your gun in your purse is not a good idea, I have posted them in the “Episode Discussion” area for the ProArms Podcast at the Gun Rights Radio Network Forum. Also, check over there for all the other Gun Rights Podcasts in our network.

This podcast is our longest yet but there was no way we could separate these three interviews, so enjoy.

Finally Terri gives us an update on the new ProArms store that she and her husband John are building in Live Oak, Florida. They are already selling guns and teaching classes even though right now they are working out of a tiny office.

Kathy Jackson shoots a perfect 300 in the LFI Qualifier. Kathy.jpg

Join us as John, Terri, Mas, Mike, Chris and Gail discuss the merits of the fairly new LCP, a mouse gun we can all love. In the second segment: Gail visits the Ruger plant in Newport New Hampshire and talks with some Ruger executives and engineers. There’s a little bit of hum in the background, we made it the best that we could, we were in a factory.

We haven’t had our Ruger SR9 recalled yet but Gunblast offers their opinion on the Ruger SR9 trigger retrofit.

Check out the Photos of tricked out 10/22 rifles here.
